Improve your life in a few minutes a day.

Improve your life in a few minutes a day.

It is never too late to start; in fact, the best time to start is now.

Now is the only time we truly have, the past is gone and the future has not arrived yet. Choose now to make the decision to become all you desire your future self to be.

I was raised in a very negative environment so I always had a  negative outlook on life even though in my twenties I became a Christian. I would worry about everything that could go wrong and then wonder ‘why did these things always happen to me’?  I did not understand that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, and that our thoughts and emotions create our future.

I am grateful for mentors like Jen Weir and Dr. Caroline Leaf, people who understand the truth and are willing to share, what we think about and believe creates our personal reality. When our thoughts become entangled with our emotions, especially strong emotions we are creating our future, this is faith, or belief. This connection is powerful, it attracts to us the things we are focusing on.

We have the ability to choose to calm ourselves despite the physical world around us and listen or just plow through the day reacting to the things that happen around us. Prayer, meditation, journaling, and visualization are all great ways to create your future. If we have the same thoughts, we had yesterday then we will have the same experiences and nothing will change.  When we take the time to connect and listen we can begin to create our best life. Health, wealth, and wisdom are all available to us!

Take some time today to connect with your higher self, your inner guidance, the Holy Spirit, or whatever name works best for you, we all have access to that inner connection that knows all and wants to guide us.

The last few years have been challenging for all of us in different ways, but we have the power to improve our lives.

Five tips to reduce stress.

Today’s world has created an overload of stress for many people. We all have stress in our lives as it is a natural part of living and it can be good for us as it will push us to improve.   When we have excessive stress levels it can cause dis-ease in our bodies.
For me, when I was at my highest stress level, that was when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was working full time, finishing massage school, and preparing to take the national board exam, when I went for my annual physical and tada... DCIS.

Excessive stress can take a huge toll on our bodies and I was no exception. Today I am healthy and much wiser and I want my friends and family to be healthy also. My journey from dis-ease to health is still ongoing but I am happy to report that I am 65 years old and not taking any prescription drugs. I have learned a lot in the past decade and I love to share and help others on their journey.

Here are five tips to reduce stress in your life

Stop listening to the news.
Mainstream media is designed to excite and stress us, so most of what they report is sensational and since today most media is owned by the same groups all the news is skewed to send a message of fear.

Exercise every day.
Find your favorite way to move and incorporate it into your daily routine, walking, swimming, yoga, strength training, and dance, just pick one or two and make room for them.

Journal
A great way to process thoughts is journaling as it is private and can be a safe way to be honest with yourself as you process. Just grab a notebook and write away, or draw if that is a better way for you to process.  Start where you are and work it out until you are able to release the negative and are at a place of peace.

Drink more water
Water is crucial to wellness including emotional wellness. Water is needed for every major body function, especially digestion. You may have heard that the gut is your second brain. Digestive health is crucial to emotional health as the stomach microbiome affects our emotions. If you are experiencing high levels of stress, you may need to add more water to your routine.

 Sleep more
A shortage of sleep will affect our anxiety levels, it can cause depression, it will affect our digestive system, and create digestive problems. Be sure to get quality sleep routinely.

Take one or two of these tips and incorporate them into your life to reduce stress and it's negative effects.
