We are living in some challenging times; and there are many things out of our control, the one thing we can always control is our thoughts, and our thoughts affect our lives.
What we allow to take residence in our minds will have an effect on our emotions and then on our health. When your body is stressed it does not have the energy it needs to fight disease and naturally heal, constant stress will cause a strain on your immune system.
God is still in control. He is not shocked, stunned or dismayed like we may be feeling. We are called to live in peace, to have faith and to be a light to those around us. How can we be a light if we are falling victim to the fear?
Here are five tips to help you relax and choose faith over fear.
1. Breathe, take a deep breath and exhale slowly imagine the stress leaving your body. Do this several times.
2. Stop and think about your thoughts, we were created with the ability to choose what we allow to dwell in our minds and we are called to have the mind of Christ. Do you think he is worried?
3. Say a scripture or affirmation out loud. Words are creative use good words.
4. Take a walk. Exercise is always good for the immune system; just take it at your current pace.
5. Have a cup of herbal tea, or honey and hot water. Add an essential oils for extra health boost.
We do have the ability to control our thoughts. Choose faith-filled thoughts. Renew your mind daily.
